Hey, Everyone!
Welcome to the FINAL 48 HOURS. This is a journey that was made possible by the artists and you!
We want to update everyone on recent developments regarding A1 Deadline Special.
Earlier this week, a third party raised questions of copyright infringement about four pages of material that were originally developed for a separate, unfulfilled anthology from five years ago. Although the contributing creators confirmed they were never paid and own their work and signed contracts that granted us full rights to include it, we voluntarily removed those pages from A1 Deadline Special to avoid any further confusion or distraction. (See our FAQ and previous update.)
To ensure that the rights of all our creators are fully protected and that the project continues without interruption, Atomeka Ltd. has retainedlegal counsel. We are in full compliance with applicable copyright law. There is no infringing content in A1 Deadline Special.
The campaign remains active, the book remains strong, and we remain committed to every creator and backer who has supported this project. Thank you for standing strong with us and for believing in independent, creator-owned storytelling.
When Garry Leach and I created A1, we offered a creator deal no one had offered before or matched since (that I am aware of). Every creator retained 100% copyright on their material, and we used it under a non-exclusive basis. They even received a page rate.
Creator rights have always meant a lot to me. I want for others what I want for myself.
When I decided to bring back A1 and Deadline, I wanted to do it the same way. Bring to Deadline what we brought to A1. To do this, though, I needed partners who felt the same way.
I want to thank my partners at Horrible Future for their amazing help and support. Their team has provided invaluable resources and professional guidance to help defend this book and the creators.
We're doing these art tiers for two main reasons: For you, the fans of these artists, who can't travel to see them at shows, or are just nowhere near any such events.
Secondly, many of the artists aren't able to go to the shows either. It can be super expensive and time-consuming. The artists receive all the money from the artwork sales. For us, the sales boost our numbers, which in turn gets us more eyeballs within the Kickstarter ecosystem as the algorithms kick in.
A win-win all around!
We're working out the tier mechanics now to allow you to choose which drawing you'd like! These will be available at NOON GMT, November 8th... tomorrow!
So, set your alarms if you want one!!

Matt Hardy, Umar Ditta, Fraser Campbell, Lucy Sullivan, PJ Holden, Rob Jones, Dan Whitehead, Warwick Johnson-Cadwell, and Steve Pugh.
We're going to make sure these creative geniuses get their shot here, with brand-spanking-new original material in A1 DEADLINE SPECIAL, that is completely unrelated to any previous projects. We can't wait to see what new characters and new stories they bring to our magazine!

Good afternoon, community!
We only just noticed that we haven't fully shared both sides of the poster magazine. In the tier graphics, side B is a bit too obscured!
And if you've read the fine print, you'll know the B side is Hotwire... However, the art isn't by Slick Steve Pugh... The art is by the late, great, Garry Leach! :)
